BOAT SLIPS · DOWNTOWN MOREHEAD CITY

Dock your boat across the street from your stay

The Town of Morehead City’s transient docks at Jaycee Park sit directly across Shepard Street from the Bask building. Rent a slip from the town, then stay in our downtown condos and lofts: your boat out the front window, the waterfront restaurants a short walk away, and the Big Rock Landing weigh-in down the street.

THE LOCATION

Why boaters stay with us

  • Your boat, across the street. The town docks at 807 Shepard St are directly in front of Bask 227 and Bask 228, and a short walk from the Lofts at Big Rock Landing.
  • Sleep ashore. Trade the bunk for a real bed, a full kitchen and fast Wi-Fi, without leaving sight of the water.
  • Walk to everything. Waterfront restaurants, the Big Rock Landing weigh-in and Arendell Street shops are all within a few blocks.
  • Tournament anglers save 10%. Fishing a tournament that weighs in downtown? See our fishing tournament lodging page for the angler rate.

THE TOWN DOCKS

Morehead City Transient Docks at Jaycee Park

The docks are owned and run by the Town of Morehead City, not by Legacy Real Estate Group, so slips are reserved directly with the town.

  • Location: 807 Shepard St, at the end of S. 9th St, across from the Bask building.
  • Slips: About 10 transient slips on floating docks, for boats up to about 50 feet, with roughly 8 feet of water dockside.
  • Amenities: Electric and water at the slips, restrooms and showers, and Wi-Fi.
  • Reservations: Book through Dockwa. The dockmaster can be reached at 252-725-5025 or on VHF channel 16.

Good to know

  • Slip check-in is typically in the afternoon and check-out in the morning. Confirm times with the dockmaster.
  • There’s no fuel or pump-out at the town docks, so fuel up at a nearby marina before you arrive.
  • Slips go fast during tournaments, holidays and summer weekends. Reserve as soon as you have dates.
  • Rates, availability and rules are set by the town and can change. Check Dockwa or call the dockmaster for current details.

TIPS FROM LOCALS

Planning a stay by boat

  • Reserve your slip first. With only about 10 transient slips, lock in your slip with the town, then book your stay with us.
  • Ask for a Bask unit. If you want to see your boat from the window, the Bask condos face the docks.
  • Plan for weather. Let us know if you’re traveling by water and we’ll help with flexible dates when the calendar allows.

More to do downtown: things to do and events by season.
