A BUILDING WITH A STORY
The Post stands at 706 Arendell Street, in the heart of downtown Morehead City and a block from the historic waterfront. The building began life as the city’s U.S. Post Office. In 1981 the town bought it, and for about 40 years it served as Morehead City’s town hall — where generations of residents paid bills, attended council meetings and did the town’s business.
When the city opened its new city hall on Bridges Street in 2021, the old building went up for sale. Kostas Hospitality purchased it and restored it as The Post: a one-of-a-kind event space that keeps the building’s civic character and its place in downtown life.
